American Century Investments Foundation

A Message from the American Century Investments Foundation:

American Century Investment’s community and philanthropy programs are designed to amplify the support that employees give to our communities in ways that are personally meaningful. Through the gift of time and treasure, the efforts of American Century’s employees directly drive the firm’s Dollars for Donors matching program with a dollar-for-dollar match of financial gifts and a designated match per volunteer hour.

Giving for the greater good is a core tenet of the company’s culture, inspired by the generosity of American Century’s founders and motivated by the impact the firm has on global health through the Stowers Institute. Collectively, American Century employees participate in our company-sponsored matching-gifts program at a rate three times higher than the national average, producing more than $1 million in matches in a single year and volunteering an average of 6,000 hours annually.

Dollars for Donors is successful because it puts employees at the center of the firm’s community engagement. With that in mind, American Century has made the decision to allocate all American Century Foundation endowment funds to the continued support and match of employee donations and volunteer hours.

Therefore, the American Century Foundation grant program has been phased out. With up to $10,000 in matches available for each employee annually, the Dollars for Donors matching program will continue to be a distinctive feature of the firm’s purpose-driven company and culture.

American Century extends its deepest appreciation to the hardworking nonprofit community for their invaluable contributions over the years. We continually and carefully evaluate the Dollars for Donors Program to ensure it effectively supports the time, talent, and treasure contributed by employees with an aim to strengthen support for the causes that matter most to team members.

American Century is grateful for your understanding and continued partnership as we navigate this transition. Please reach out should you have any questions or require further clarification.
