Sisters' Circle Fund - Greater Kansas City
Established in 2016, the Sisters’ Circle's mission is to increase charitable giving within African American communities to benefit African American communities in the Greater Kansas City area. Annually, the Sister’s Circle Fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations who work with intention to improve the quality of life, or provide services of significant value to the Kansas City region’s African American communities.

Important Dates:

  • Application Available: March 7, 2024
  • Application Deadline: June 5, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. CST
  • Decision Notification: August 2024

Grant Range:
Grants generally range from $5,000 to $20,000

Grant Requirements:
Grants are made only to nonprofits that have current 501(c)(3) status. The program or project must focus on improving the quality of life for African-Americans who reside within one of the below-listed counties.

Geographic Focus:
To apply, the nonprofit organization must be located and serving in: Clay, Jackson or Platte in Missouri, or Johnson or Wyandotte in Kansas.

Areas of Exclusion:  

  • Individuals
  • Political parties, candidates or political activities
  • Religious organizations for denominational programs
  • Special one-time events
  • Capital campaigns
